The team has spent the last several years working with 50+ Shopify merchants — building stores, fixing checkout funnels, chasing the unanswerable question of whycustomers don't buy. Click Context is what we built to answer it.
Why we built this
By 2024, two trends had become impossible to ignore. Behavioral analytics tools were consolidating — Hotjar into Contentsquare, Heap into Amplitude, smaller players quietly disappearing. And AI assistants were getting good enough that merchants were trying to use them for operational questions: why is checkout converting lower this week?
Neither side was ready. Established analytics tools held merchant data hostage behind exports and dashboards. AI assistants had no structured way to read that data. Merchants ended up copying CSVs into Claude and getting hand-wavy answers grounded in nothing.
We built Click Context as the layer that connects them. Behavioral data from your Shopify store, captured with full product and funnel context, exposed through a Model Context Protocol server so any AI assistant can query it directly. EU-hosted, merchant-owned, integrated with the Shopify Customer Privacy API by default.
What we believe
- Merchants should own their behavioral data.Free analytics tools that take a license to your data in exchange for the dashboard are a trade — and most merchants don't realize they're making it. See our perspective on data ownership.
- AI access should be opt-in, token-scoped, and revocable. You decide which assistants can read your data. You can pull the kill switch any time.
- Privacy is the default, not the upgrade.Shopify's Customer Privacy API integration ships in the base product, not a Pro tier.
- Be honest about competitors.Microsoft Clarity is free and good. Lucky Orange covers ground we don't. Our comparison content reflects that.
Team
Click Context is a small team of engineers and ecommerce operators. We make every product decision ourselves — there is no growth team, no analytics committee, no roadmap committee. If something is wrong, the same person who built it is reading the bug report.
